With Neptune Refrigeration wanting to take on the Airlie Beach market while not upsetting the search engine dominance we've achieved for the Cairns region, we had to approach this website modification and upgrade delicately.
We first modified the existing website pages to incorporate the Airlie Beach related keywords into the head tags of the pages. The Cairns website design head tags were modified by adding Airlie Beach related keywords to the meta descriptions and adding new geo.placename data to target the secondary region. So the website now has two geo.placename attributes int he head tags, one for Cairns and one for Airlie Beach with 2 geo.position tags for the latitude and longitude coordinates for both.
From the head tag modifications, our SEO developer then went about saturating the existing page content with equal quantities of appearances of the 2 regional sets of keywords throughout the website content and hidden tag elements such as alt image tags.
A new keyword heavy Airlie Beach relevant multi link paragraph section was incorporated into the site baseline with 5 additional page links to brand new keyword specific targeted heavy website pages. These 5 new pages go into heavier detail specific to one of the new keywords only and is a sure way of attracting the attention of search engines while also staying within, if not extremely close, to the positioning of falling victim to keyword blocking.
From here we have added a new sitemap.xml file to outline the new page structure and new content and we will be tracking the progress of their newly targeted SEO keywords over the coming weeks.
