Our long term client at Coxen Cleaning Supplies wanted to make the next leap with their Cairns website design and move into an eCommerce style platform. The owners of the company approached us for our advice on the best way forward with developing this type of platform.

We looked into their existing inventory management software and found that this product which they subscribe to for their day to day point of sale, inventory, pricing, sales and invoicing and found that this software developer had enabled an optional extra to embed an eCommerce system directly to a website.

This looked like the best option for our client as it already solved the problem of populating the database with their products. It also had the added advantage of using just one database for all their systems meaning there was less chance of incorrect data appearing on the website product list such as quantity, description and price.

Allcorp arranged a meeting with the software developers that Coxen Cleaning Supplies use for this inventory management system and during our meeting we thought we were on the right track to using this system. That was until we found the price, which was more than $20,000 to set it up and ongoing fees that would make your eyes water.

So, after this meeting we went back to the drawing board.

We proposed to our client that we could build them an entire Content Management System (CMS) and develop our own custom coded eCommerce segment to their Cairns website design.
