When Cairns Castles & Entertainment first started talking with us about their new business earlier in the year, they had a goal in mind to completely automate the booking process for their eCommerce functions. On top of customers being able to make bookings through the website, they can also add on available options, choose delivery date and time and pay a deposit securely with Stripe.

The client had a look at the usual WordPress/Wix website agencies in Cairns, but wanted a product that was designed for their requirements, not just some off the shelf booking engine. This is where Allcorp come in as the only website developers in the Cairns region who could help them get this done right.

We started the website development process by initially developing a storyboard of how we want the website front end and back end to function. For the front end, we needed ease of use and simplicity to make the booking process as easy as possible. For the back end, our client wanted to be able to control their inventory, block out dates for availability, set price levels and also add or remove photos, pdf documents and available extra add-ons to their jumping castle range. (Such as generator, supervisor, photo booth, jukebox, lighting machines, smoke machines and really anything else they want to add.)

As a live environment controlled by php, javascript and bootstrap, the changes and additions our client makes in the secure administration back end of the website are displayed immediately on the public facing front end of the website.

The reason why we develop all of this for our client on a custom level gives us the freedom to do whatever we want and not be constrained by the templated, off the shelf products. While the other website agencies in Cairns struggle when it comes to this sort of development and resort to finding a 'near-enough-is-good-enough' third party booking engine which they plug into the website, we develop everything from the ground up.

The reason why this is superior is because it is designed to have the functions that we want it to have without excess baggage of other elements that we don't. For example, the amateur website maker might browse through the range of available booking engines and, after noticing that there isn't an off the shelf product that caters to owners of a business in Cairns wanting to automate the ordering, deliver, payment and options list for their range of jumping castles and entertainment products, decides that this Pizza Delivery booking engine might just be close enough. They then proceed to chop it apart to shoe-horn it into the website and before long, the client is being asked by their customers why there is an option for one of their jumping castles to add on olives.
