New YouTube Ads campaign July
- Glasstech, Cairns
www.glasstech.com.au
With the new videography project being finalised yesterday, we have now configured the YouTube Ads campaign for Glasstech to run alongside their already successful Google Ads campaign. We're running these YouTube Ads from Cairns to Townsville and Mackay with everything in between also targeted.
Our client initiated this video project with the aim of utilising it to draw attention to cabinetmakers, builders, glaziers and glass fabricators with the aim of promoting their new capabilities and technology.
In order to achieve this, we have set certain parameters on their YouTube campaign to filter the audience to right people. Obviously, we can't be so precise as to only show the ads to people who own building companies, but we can add filters in place to ensure we are getting as close as possible. Unlike television advertising, which simply broadcasts the ads to everyone, YouTube allows us much more precision to selecting the audience we want to reach.
One way we can do this, and always our first step in the process, is to immediately prohibit the YouTube Ads from popping up on YouTube channels that are made for children. To do this, we add a list of kids YouTube channels to an exclusion list, which means that the ad for Glasstech will never show up for someone watching channels like 'Peppa Pig' or 'Nursery Rhymes for Toddlers' and so on. Our list of YouTube kids channels is growing each month and now stands at well over 10,000 channels.
The next filtration method we tune for our YouTube campaign for Glasstech is demographics. We can select options to only show the video advertisement to YouTube users based on gender, age and household income. This eliminates the lower end of the income status of YouTube users from seeing the ads, assuming that students and unemployed people probably won't be able to afford their products, let alone run a building or glazier company. We leave both gender options selected as many small businesses in this category are often run by a husband and wife team. We also eliminate the ads from being shown to senior citizens and teenagers.
The final step in selecting our audience filters is to prioritise the YouTube Ads to show up for YouTube users who have performed Google Searches in the past for keywords that relate to our clients business. So, if a person has searched for 'Glass Splashbacks' or 'Wholesale Glass' in the past 3 months in Google, we can assign more of the client budget to attract these people.
